Questions and answers
The things people ask first
Answers to what guests actually write in and ask. Anything not here — rates, exact times, house rules — is not published because it changes, and nyaragoa@gmail.com will tell you straight away.
How many people does Ikshaa sleep?
3 bedrooms, 4 beds and 2 bathrooms. 6 sleep comfortably, and the booking will take up to 9.
Is there a private pool?
Yes — the pool is private, for the use of your party alone. It is not heated, though Goa rarely makes you want that.
Is there WiFi at the villa?
Yes — complimentary high-speed WiFi throughout, for up to 25 devices, included at no extra cost. It holds up fine for video calls, so remote work is realistic.
Are the rooms air-conditioned?
Yes — air-conditioned bedrooms and living room.
Is there a kitchen we can use?
There is a kitchen — large and fully equipped. And a cook can be arranged — ask when booking.
Is breakfast included, and can meals be arranged?
Breakfast is complimentary English breakfast every morning, plus unlimited tea, coffee and juices all day. A cook can be arranged — ask when booking. There are also plenty of shacks and restaurants around the virgin beaches of South Goa, and delivery apps cover the area.
Where exactly is Ikshaa?
Ikshaa Luxury Villa is in Loutolim, South Goa. It is a 15 minute drive to the virgin beaches of South Goa, and Margao station is a 10 minute drive. The exact pin is shared once a booking is confirmed.
How far is the beach?
It is a 15 minute drive to the virgin beaches of South Goa. Not beachfront — the coast is a short drive rather than a walk.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 2pm, and the door is open until midnight. Check-out is by 11am. A late flight is no trouble at all; arriving early depends on the day before, so ask me and I will check.
Is housekeeping and laundry included?
Housekeeping comes daily. Linen and towels are provided and changed during your stay. Laundry: personal laundry included.
Is the villa safe and private?
The villa is let on an exclusive basis, so the house and grounds are yours alone, and Loutolim, South Goa is a quiet residential stretch that is comfortable to walk at night. There is also medical service on call.
Can we host a small get-together at the villa?
For something small and private the house is well set up: the kitchen is large and fully equipped, a cook can be arranged — ask when booking, and dinner is provided on request; there is also a barbeque in the gazebo. Tell me what you have in mind at nyaragoa@gmail.com and I will arrange a caterer or extra staff — I know who is good locally and what the house can take. The policy on larger events is a separate matter: something I decide case by case — tell me what you have in mind.
Is there a power backup?
Power backup is 24/7 generator backup, indoors and out. Cuts happen occasionally in Goa but are usually short.
Is there a garden or outdoor space?
There are grounds around the house, and they are yours alone — the villa is let on an exclusive basis. Dinner is provided on request; there is also a barbeque in the gazebo. The pool is private, for the use of your party alone.
Is there a television?
There is satellite TV.
When is the best time of year to visit Goa?
November to February is dry and warm. June to September is the monsoon — green, dramatic, and the house at its most private.
What is there to do near Loutolim?
Plenty within reach — the virgin beaches of South Goa and the shacks along it, the Saturday night market, old Portuguese houses around Loutolim and Chandor, spice farms inland, and Palolem a bit further south. The caretaker knows the good, non-touristy versions of all of it.
